Worker cooperatives are businesses owned and managed democratically by its members, who are worker-owners. Worker Co-ops are less vulnerable to economic shocks, offer improved working conditions with less turnover than in traditional business models, and tend to be greener and more sustainable because of a concern for the broader community. For us, having a say in our workplace and a commitment to ongoing training for ourselves ensures that we provide the best quality of services for our clients within the context of a just workplace environment.
Pa’lante is part of a growing movement of worker cooperatives in New York City and across the country. We would like to thank the following supporters and collaborators made up of individuals, organizations and other worker cooperatives who helped us along the way, providing us with support, training, technical assistance, and inspiration.
